Rebrand

Why

After some feedback from the community, I decided to rebrand the SeveredDuck36 by changing its name and logo. We concluded that the violent nature of the name and logo could be seen as offensive to some and I didn’t want that to affect the reach of the keyboard. I wouldn’t want someone to not use the keyboard just because of poor branding desicions on my behalf.

New name

The new name for the project is Waterfowl, I think it is a more sophisticated name that fits well with the clean design of the keyboard and the smooth lines in the feather pattern while still keeping to the duck theme.

New logo

The logo has been updated to be less graphic, the duck is now poking its head out of the water:

How

The overall design of the keyboard will not be changing, just the graphics and text used on the PCB. I will also be updating the GitHub repository with the new branding and making it public again once the groupbuy has finished.

In other news

ZMK

The ZMK shield has now been completed, I’m aiming for it to be merged upstream by the time you guys get the keyboard in your hands! You can now use the power switch and JST connector to connect a battery to the keyboard and use it wirelessly with a nice!nano.
